6TH INTERNATIONAL SMALL SIZE PRINT EXHIBITION This Biennial, exclusively on invitation, includes 125 artists coming from about 50 countries all over the world. The works in exhibition are 250 (maximum size 25 cm x 35 cm), made in recent years, with chalcographic or relief techniques; the major part of these works will be donated by the artists to join the important collection of original contemporary graphic art that can be found in the Cabinet of Drawings and Prints at the Museo Civico “Ala Ponzone” of Cremona. |

28th Bienal de São Paulo From October 26 to December 6, 2008 Ivo Mesquita, curator of Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo and professor of the Center for Curatorial Studies of Bard College, in Annadale-on-Hudson, United States, will be the curator of the 28th Bienal de São Paulo that will take place between October and December, 2008, at its traditional venue of Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion, at the Ibirapuera Park. The curatorial team has thus invited artists working on the borderline between reality and fiction, between the creation of documents and instituted truths, between personal memory and collective history, to develop and/or present projects that bring to light some aspects of the history of the Bienal de São Paulo, whether from a social, documentary, political or architectural perspective. In this sense, the construction of a more organic exhibition space, different from the traditional white cube, proposes an apparatus that demands an active positioning from the spectator, enabling readings and re-significations at each viewing, within an introspective setting – one that is closer to the time of the library and/or archive than to the time of major exhibitions and cultural industry. http://bienalsaopaulo.globo.com/english/artes/noticias/noticias_evento.asp?IDNoticia=161 |
IMPRINT 2008Kulisiewicz International Graphic Arts Triennial in Warsaw. Theme of the Triennial – Clashes Between CivilizationsThe Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Tadeusz Kulisiewicz Foundation have jointly undertaken to organize an International Triennial of Graphic Arts. The new International Triennial will provide an opportunity to present graphic arts in the context of other fields of the humanities and to create a space for meetings and interdisciplinary debate.
